Suggested Packing List
Clothing
  1. Shirts
  2. Pants/jeans (3-4 pairs)
  3. Sweatshirts
  4. Jacket (suitable for rain)
  5. Socks/undergarments
  6. Shoes x 2 (already broken in)
  7. One nicer outfit for our Broadway show (nothing overly fancy)
Accessories
  1. Gloves
  2. Hat/cap
  3. Rain poncho or travel umbrella
  4. Backpack
  5. Sunblock
  6. Watch (should wear at all times; use in addition to your cell phone clock)
  7. Bathroom Accessories
  8. Toothbrush/toothpaste
  9. Band-aids
  10. Shampoo and conditioner
  11. Soap/body wash
  12. Deodorant
  13. Hand sanitizer
  14. Masks if desired
Items for your carry-on (do not pack in your checked luggage)
  1. Glasses/contact lenses
  2. Digital camera with extra memory card (if bringing additional camera)
  3. Device/Phone chargers
  4. Cell Phone
  5. Emergency/life-saving meds (asthma inhaler, epi-pen, insulin, etc)*
Items NOT permitted in carry-on luggage
  1. Bottled water (or any other liquid larger than 3 oz.)
  2. Knives, blades, scissors, or other sharp objects (discovery of a knife, blade, or any weapon in the airport will warrant a phone call to your parents to come pick you up before you ever get on the plane!)
  3. Hairspray or other aerosols (bring pump hairspray only and put in checked luggage)
To give to Mr. Sheridan before boarding the bus to the airport
  1. Rio Norte Photo ID (give to Mr. Sheridan at final student meeting)
  2. All medication (prescription or over-the-counter), EXCEPT life-saving meds which you will keep with you at all times
*As of the publication of this list on February 20th, 2022, all emergency medication involving needles (Epi-Pen, insulin, etc) do NOT require a prescription or doctor’s note.  However, if you have the prescription, it wouldn't hurt to have it with you. You should be prepared to declare your needle-administered medication to the TSA screener before placing your carry-on items into the x-ray machine at the airport security checkpoint.  If you need assistance, please ask a Rio Norte chaperone BEFORE approaching the security checkpoint.  For the most up-to-date information on TSA regulations, log onto http://www.tsa.gov
